Indian Companies Encouraged To Explore Untapped Renewable Energy Sector In Ethiopia

The Ethiopian Embassy in New Delhi has encouraged Indian companies to explore untapped investment potentials of the renewable energy sector in Ethiopia.

That was said during a meeting between the Ethiopian Ambassador to India, Demeke Atnafu, and Mr. R.P. Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI).

At the meeting, both sides discussed investment opportunities in Ethiopia focusing on renewable energy sectors.

Ambassador Demeke briefed the Chairman and Managing Director on the untapped potential of collaboration in the renewable energy sector; such as hydro, solar, wind, and geothermal. He encouraged Indian companies to participate mainly in solar and wind power sectors.

According to the Ethiopian Embassy in New Delhi, both sides have agreed further to explore areas of cooperation and partnership on renewable energy, mainly to forge collaboration in the solar and wind power sectors.
