Ethiopian Launches Thrice Weekly London – Gatwick Flights

Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest airline, officially launched three weekly direct flight services to Gatwick Airport in London, UK on Monday.

This expansion marks the 20th European destination for Ethiopian Airlines, further solidifying its position as a premier carrier connecting Africa to the world.

Ethiopian Airlines Commercial Chief, Lemma Yadecha, said on the occasion that the company has been expanding its destinations across the globe as per its growth strategy.

The newly commenced flight to Gatwick Airport in London is believed to enhance the existing economic relations between Ethiopia and the UK, besides its economic benefits to the airlines, he added.

The British Ambassador to Ethiopia, Darren Welch, said the flight would further strengthen the bilateral diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The new service will be operational every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, ENA reported.

The new service will offer a direct flight between London-Gatwick and Addis Ababa onboard an Airbus A350 with Business Class and Economy cabins, providing seamless connectivity to Ethiopian Airlines’ vast global networks stretched across Africa, the Far East, the Americas, and Asia.
